The town of Sheno was selected for its proximity to Addis Ababa. It is clean, quiet, and peaceful and has a well preserved and attractive natural landscape. More than ¾ of the site is vacant but consists of about 500 residential buildings which are very old and deteriorated. These households will be relocated in two phases to a nearby site and better housing units. After the construction of the hospital, a women's rehabilitation center and an orphanage will be built. Both the construction and management of these will be financed by income generated from the hospital. The hospital goal will be to provide services to the town, its surrounding areas, the country and people from other countries. The life of the population of the town will be changed due to job opportunities to be created during the construction work and also functioning of the hospital.
